A Woman’s Perspective - Home Plan Makeover
Jenny found her ideal home plan; she made a few tweaks and now it’s perfect!
Homeowner’s Profile: Jenny, a college professor, and her husband Jeff, a consultant who works out of their home, needed separate office spaces.
The couple has two sons, ages 4 and 6. Because they frequently entertain big and little people, they opened up the main level and created a nice media space on the
upper level.

Modifications Jenny made to the Athens, #5523:
- Added square footage by squaring off the back of the home.
- Took out the peninsula to open the kitchen to the great room and switched the kitchen and breakfast area.
- Created a large, hidden walk-in pantry – accessible through a cabinetry door.
- Moved the island and added seating.
- Moved the laundry room to the rear foyer, creating a pocket office in the vacated space.
- Created a larger laundry with lots of cabinetry and a craft area in the former dining room.
- Added a drop zone and closet off the garage entrance.
- Added a linen closet between the vanities in the master bath.
- Created a large media room upstairs, absorbing Bedroom 4 and the open space above the front entry.
